The first man from New Orleans to be initiated was Mickey Nodruft. He did his weekend in Albuquerque in 1996. From that point he invited other men to participate in NWTA’s in New Mexico, Colorado, and Houston. Slowly and steadily the community grew and the one I Group got so big it had to be split into two. Men in New Orleans were on fire and we kept inviting men to be a part of MKP. We would take them to Houston’s Land of my grand fathers to be initiated and shortly the 2 I groups became 4 then 6. Through the leadership of men like Mari Guas and Paul Thompson New Orleans became a satellite community in 2003. We were mentored by Houston and John Gaughan and co created our first NWTA with the North Texas community in 2004. We were poised to put on the 1st NWTA in Louisiana in 2005 when New Orleans and our MKP community were devastated by Katrina.

Since Katrina we have been rebuilding New Orleans and the community. The 1st NWTA was put on in 2007 and we have put on a total of 4 NWTA’s plus other trainings such as BSDT, leadership training I and 2, guts and shadow work workshops, as well as IPLT. New Orleans has initiated over 250 men since 1996.The bottom line is New Orleans is alive and kicking today and we have a thriving MKP community. Men in our community are making a difference in the world! AHO!!!
