Mission of Service for Wayne Luthi

Wayne Luthi.jpg

Personal Mission:

To Create a world of inclusive joy by reflecting back the spirit in others.

Action in the World:

Wayne got his first taste of community service work by organizing for local IBM employees in the late 80’s and early 90’s days to work for Habitat for Humanity and Repair Affair, an organization which repairs homes for the elderly. In 2007 Wayne began working with men in the Jefferson County Corrections facility in Louisville. In March of 2008 Wayne was asked to work with a particular group of men in the “Pathways Program.” This program is for men who are within three months of being released and is to prepare their transition from the world inside the system to the world outside the system. Other than once for vacation travel and once for workshop education, Wayne has held a circle for these men every Thursday evening from 8:pm to 10:pm. A man who invented a program called Shakespeare Behind Bars heard of Wayne’s work in the corrections system and in August 2008 asked him to come to Luther-Luckett state prison to do work with the men in his group which Wayne has been doing since. Wayne has also been a guest teaching artist at Liberty High School, a “second chance school” for those either expelled or dropped out. Wayne conducts Family Constellation workshops and facilitation trainings.
