Personal Mission:

I create a world of healthy, vibrant, empowered young people through teaching and service.

Action in the World:

While working on his undergraduate degree he was introduced to the wonderful world of residential summer camp. In 1994, Johnny Mac began his decade of service at Camp Chateaugay, a children’s summer camp located just north of Lake Placid in the Adirondack State Park. Over a ten year stretch, Johnny Mac worked as a camp counselor, group leader, head counselor, and assistant director at Camp Chateaugay.
Johnny Mac has held teaching positions in South Bend, Indiana at Christ the King School, and in the City of Rochester. And he worked at Three Springs, a residential outdoor therapeutic program near Nashville, Tennessee.

In 1999, Johnny Mac developed the Camp DayDreams Program, and in August of 2000 he began the magic of Camp DayDreams. The Camp DayDreams program met with immediate success and has continued to develop into The Camp DayDreams “Camp & Grow Program”. For ten years now, under the direction of our Executive Director, JohnnyMac, Rochester’s youth have enjoyed and benefitted from our residential summer camp experience and year round support.
