Personal Mission:
I heal a lonely world by seeing Spirit in everything and giving it voice.
Action in the World:
Fred made a life transition and career change a few years ago, when he stepped away from being a manager at a high-technology company to become a Case Supervisor for CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates). The transition was inspired by his mission work.
CASA provides advocacy and support to children whose parents can no longer care for them because of abuse or neglect. Fred screens and trains volunteer Advocates that work with the child, the caregivers, the courts and social service to help them while their parents attempt to become safe parents again. These are often not happy stories, and the children are in need of care, support, safety, and the presence of stable adults. This is where Fred shines. He brings comfort, support, authenticity, and a 'voice' to the children. He advocates for their needs in court, treats them with gentle respect, and always brings them a kind word.
