Mission of Service for Charlie Prochelo

Charlie Prochelo.jpg

Personal Mission:

I share my experience strength and hope to bring others serenity and sobriety.

Action in the World:

Charlie and his wife Eileen are active in the recovery community. Charlie was born and raised in Sioux City and lived in different parts of the country before returning back to Sioux City in 2001. In Phoenix, he was on the boards of the Crossroads Recovery Center and the local chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism. He was a founder and first president of the North Scottsdale Alano Club, as well as starting an annual AA conference in 1990.
Charlie’s passion is with helping young men find their way in life. He started, with other Warrior brothers, a weekly Conflict Resolution program for the adolescent boys and girls at the Jackson Recovery Center. He and his wife volunteer as mentors for several of these teenage boys and girls at the Center and co-chair the Adolescent Center Auxiliary for Jackson Recovery Center. He helped organize and open Oxford Houses Sober Residences for men and women as well as start an annual AA conference for the last three years here in Sioux City. The play, “Bill W. and Dr. Bob” was produced a couple years ago by Charlie and Eileen. They have served their tasty spaghetti and other fine dishes for many MKP functions, fund raisers, and recovery events.

Being a woman, I value the life lessons that my "gentle-man" brought home with him from the weekend.
