Position Profile
The Finance Operations Coordinator works under the direction of the Finance Director of The ManKind Project (MKP) USA. MKP is in it’s second year of Unification, where over 30 individual center corporations are merging with the national office to form a single unified corporation. Part of that process is to create an integrated financial system to get local needs met for bill paying, budgeting, customer tracking and management reporting. MKP is looking for Finance Operations Specialist who will work with the Finance Director to effectively shepherd this process.
The Finance Operations Specialist contributes to the development of the 30 Area budgets, pulling historical data and forecasting future expenses. Generates financial information for ad-hoc reports; analyzes and interprets new and frequently changing business processes and procedures, and makes recommendations to the Finance Director.
MKP USA staff is a team of ten located across the nation working in a virtual environment. As a virtual organization candidates should be self-directed and thrive in having the flexibility (and challenges) of working from home.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Ability to work and thrive in a virtual environment

Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in MS Excel and Quickbooks

Experience with financial data analysis and business operations workflows

Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Demonstrate an understanding of men’s initiation and the values of The ManKind Project USA
Desired Skills

Experience with multi-department budgets

Experience creating and communicating systems, procedures and structures

Knowledge of CiviCRM programming languages are pluses
Job Duties

Lead the budget data gathering, coordination and evaluation
-
Monitor, evaluate and improve existing automated systems

Work with Financial Coordinators from the 30 Areas to develop an annual area budget, solve spending challenges and improve practices

Conduct quarterly budget variance analysis for the national support team

Conduct semi-annual performance evaluations and meetings for each area

Lead and complete the MKP USA Annual Report process.

Host collaborative training sessions with Area Finance representatives

Coordinate and gather data necessary to complete annual audit and 990 tax returns

Monitor compliance with state registrations and reporting requirements
Compensation
The Finance Specialist is a 6 month assignment with the possibility of converting to a full time position at the end. Hourly salary commensurate with experience.
