We are proud to announce that David Lang has accepted the position as the Executive Director for the ManKind Project, USA, to begin on August 1, 2011.

David has a powerful history of leadership in non-profit and for-profit organizations. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership, the collaborative body and collective voice for 26 cultural institutions in San Diego’s historic Balboa Park. The Partnership supports the work of the institutions’ 500 trustees, 2,500 staff, and 7,000 volunteers in service to 6.7 million annual visitors by coordinating collective business operations, guest services, government relations, cooperative education programs, marketing, and strategic planning among the institutions.

Prior to joining the Partnership, Lang was Director of Government Affairs for KSA Industries, parent company of a diverse group of businesses (including the NFL’s Tennessee Titans) in Houston, Texas. Earlier, he was Vice President for Development for the Sigma Chi Fraternity Foundation in Evanston, Illinois.

Active in San Diego community affairs, Lang serves on the 2011 Americans for the Arts Convention (San Diego) Host Committee, San Diego Regional Arts & Culture Coalition (Past Co-Chair), and is a member of San Diego Rotary Club 33, where he serves on the Finance and Program Committees. He is also a member of the American Association of Museums and serves on the Bastyr University Board of Trustees in Kenmore, Washington. Outdoors, this Eagle Scout is an avid triathlete, snow skiing enthusiast, and recreational tennis player.

David was initiated in the San Diego Community in October 2008, and has been active in an I-Group (Kensington) since then. He currently serves the San Diego Community as Staff Selection Coordinator and has staffed four times and MOS’ed once. He has completed PIT training, BSDT, LT1 and the Advanced Staff Training. He will be attending LT2 in June.
